Daytona at Clementi Ave 6 !!!
Yea!!! Thanks heavens for the rain, the heavy downpour literally washed all the smog away. Yea!
And now, for the Bad/Good news...
I almost wrecked my car. Yes yes... nothing's wrong with your eyes. Stop rubbing otherwise you might just end up looking like a close relative of ET.
Well, to recap an otherwise terrifying moment, I was driving along Clementi Ave 6 down the circular slope joining AYE when suddenly my wheels decided that the leftside kerb was cute and proceeded ahead regardless of my steering. Naturally, I stepped on my brakes, the front wheels kissed the kerb and the rear of my car spun around. When I finally stopped, I was seeing things from a whole new perspective. The car was facing up slope against the rest of the traffic. I alighted and found out the reason for 'Fatal attraction'.
My left front tyre burst. Coupled with the slippery road, it spun out of control. Too bad, I had no time to take photos because it was really quite a sight. So I placed an umbrella along 15m up so as to warn the rest of traffic while I tried to replace the tyre. After 5 minutes, I have come to a conclusion that most drivers don't pay attention to the road anyway and that coupled with the fact that I was stuck at mid slope made the process extremely hazardous.
There were some drivers that noticed my car only 5 metres away which was already in plain sight. Interestingly, there was 01 driver who stopped in front of the opened umbrella and complained vehemently that he was about to run over the umbrella. I replied flatly that he can go ahead, just leave me and the car unscathed, which is the actual purpose. Only then he noticed the awkward looking car and he muttered something and left without looking at me.
But there were nice drivers too. A TP came within 5 minutes and started to re-direct traffic to the other lane while I was waiting for the toll truck. Someone must have taken the time to call. God bless his/her soul. Much appreciated. The toll truck arrived soon and I was back at my place replacing the darn tyre.

Knowing my luck this year so far, some kind souls have commented: "Woah!, you're a bit suay ah." Hmm.... Haven't I mentioned that I'm an Optimist?
Just because most people deem it as unlucky or cursed doesn't mean it is. I have learned a lot from all these incidents. However I do wish that God would start doubting my ability to manage. But I doubt He would.
I have learned that my stock tires are as reliable as the Titanic.
I have learned how to replace tyres. Good tyres are expensive. Replaced 03 of them with Falken 512s. For those who know how to count, the last one is already a 512, no thanks to the last collusion.
The last blessing? A day's rest with ample sleep at home.
My last piece of learning from this? Clementi Ave 6 is cursed, especially for changing of tyres. Just the other day, another driver died from a collusion while changing his flat tyre.
Just watch out while on the road!
